This is a semi-hollow bodied electric instrument with a layout and tuning developed by the Shona people of Zimbabwe. It has 15 keys more or less in the key of F
The body is made out of bird's-eye maple, black walnut, and birch ply. (it started life as a hand-crafted jewelry box)
It has graphic buzzalizers on the 8 keys of the lower manual.
Acoustically it is quiet but amplified it has a strong even pickup
