  This is a hollow body acoustic/electric kalimba with 13 keys. It is tuned for an octave and a half of the key of C major.
  It is set up with brass wire buzzers which gives it a nice soft sizzle which can be turned off by holding the

kalimba at a different angle.

  The top and back are hand selected pieces of birch plywood and the sides are maple.
  This kalimba is very strong acoustically and very even and loud electrically.
    I built and signed this lovely box in 1999.
   
    (The 3.5 inch depth of this instrument gives it great acoustic tone but makes it harder for a person with small hands to hold and play.)
